Competition takes it on the chin (again) in 2006
After seven years of unprecedented market share growth, Metro Brokers is now the top selling broker in metro Atlanta. The company conducted more buyer-brokered transactions - 5,445 - than any other company in the 22-county Atlanta metropolitan statistical area in 2006. Metro Brokers was also the only company among the top five residential brokerage companies to post positive market share growth in buyer-brokered sales during 2006. Overall, Metro Brokers remains the fastest growing residential real estate company over the last seven years in both listings sold and buyer-brokered sales. Metro Brokers' transaction growth since 2000 is 9.5%, while every other company in the top five has lost market share over the same period including 27% and 55% declines by Re/Max Greater Atlanta and Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage, respectively. Metro Brokers remains the market share leader by a wide margin south of I-20, where the company closed more than twice as many transactions as the next closest competitor. Metro Brokers is also the market share leader in the two specific southside counties, Douglas and Henry. There were numerous individual areas in which Metro Brokers experienced market leading growth in 2006.
